Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

My Campus is a campus networking and academics app for students and faculty of partner educational institutions. Accounts are created and managed by the user's college or institute. The app does not offer public self-registration.

Your college or institute is a joint user of campus records for education administration. We process data on their behalf to operate My Campus for that campus.

2. Scope

This Policy covers:

• The My Campus Android app.
• The college software APIs and media storage used by the app (campusapp.in/college_software).
• Information you provide, content you post, and information your institution stores in your campus profile.

This Policy does not cover third-party websites, job apply links, or apps you open from My Campus. Those services have their own privacy terms.

3. Information we collect

We collect only what is needed to run campus features you use.

3.1 Account and profile

• Login identifier (email address or mobile number) and password.
• Name, role (student or faculty), institute / branch / class identifiers.
• Email, mobile number, date of birth, and gender.
• Address, city, state, and pincode.
• Guardian name and guardian phone where provided for student records.
• Profile photo, banner image, and resume photo you upload.
• Optional professional links such as LinkedIn, GitHub, and portfolio.
• Profile summary.
• Education, skills, experience, projects, certifications, and achievements.

3.2 User-generated content

• Feed posts including title, text, photos, videos, PDFs, and visibility settings.
• Likes, comments, and replies.
• Direct chat messages with other campus users.
• Connection requests and connection lists.
• Events created or viewed.
• Quizzes created or attempted and answers.
• Study materials you upload or download.
• Job posts, job applications, and application status.
• Resume content you create.

3.3 Files you choose to attach

If you attach a photo, video, PDF, or other file, we collect that file and upload it to campus storage so it can be shown in the relevant feature.

On modern Android versions we use the system photo/file picker. We do not require broad access to all photos or videos on your device.

3.4 Device and technical data

• Internet connectivity status to show offline errors.
• Session data stored on the device so you stay signed in.
• Basic app diagnostics generated by the operating system.

3.5 Information we do not collect in this app

• Payment card details.
• Contacts, SMS, call logs, or microphone audio.
• Background location.
• Health or fitness data.

4. How we use information

We use information to:

• Authenticate you and keep your session secure.
• Show your profile and campus identity to permitted users.
• Deliver feeds, comments, likes, chat, connections, events, quizzes, materials, jobs, and resume features.
• Let your institution administer campus records.
• Show content according to post visibility, such as everyone on campus or connections only.
• Improve reliability and prevent abuse.
• Respond to support requests.
• Comply with law and lawful institutional requests.

We do not use your personal information to show third-party advertisements in My Campus.

5. How we share information

We share information only as needed to operate the campus product:

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with data brokers. We do not use personal information for third-party advertising.

The app may load fonts from Google Fonts when a typeface is not already on the device. That request can include a device IP address. This is only for displaying text, not for advertising.

6. User-generated content and community standards

Posts, comments, chat, materials, events, and profile content are created by users. You are responsible for content you upload.

To report content or another user, email info@suvidhasoft.com with the user's name, a screenshot or URL if available, and a description of the issue.

We and/or the institution may remove content, restrict access, or disable accounts that violate law or campus rules.

7. Children

My Campus is built for college / higher-education students and faculty. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are under 18, use the app only with an account issued by your institution and in accordance with your institution's rules and applicable law.

If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, contact us and we will delete it.

My Campus is not designed for Google Play's Designed for Families programme and should not be submitted as a children's app.

8. Account creation and account deletion

You cannot create a My Campus account from a public sign-up screen. Your institution issues login credentials.

Requesting account deletion

You may request deletion of your My Campus account and associated personal data by:

1. Asking your college administrator to deactivate or delete your campus user record.
2. Emailing info@suvidhasoft.com with subject "My Campus account deletion request", your full name, registered email or mobile, institute name, and user ID if you know it.

Some records may be retained in anonymised or legally required form.

Logging out of the app clears the local session stored on your device.

9. Data retention

We keep personal data for as long as your campus account is active and as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal or institutional record requirements.

When an account is deleted, we delete or de-identify associated personal data from production systems except where retention is legally required.

10. Security

We use HTTPS for app-to-server communication, access controls on campus systems, and institution-scoped accounts.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please use a strong password and do not share your login.

11. International users

Servers and support for My Campus are operated from India. If you access the app from another country, your information may be processed in India.

We handle personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and other laws that apply to us.

12. Your rights

Subject to applicable law and institutional rules, you may request to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate profile data.
• Withdraw optional information you added.
• Request deletion of your account.
• Lodge a complaint with a competent data protection authority.

You can also edit much of your profile information directly in the My Campus app.

Send privacy requests to info@suvidhasoft.com . We may need to verify your identity and your relationship to the institution.

13. Permissions

Depending on device and Android version, the app may use:

You can deny optional permissions. Core login and browsing of text content still work without file access.

14. Changes

We may update this Policy. The "Last updated" date will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.

Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this page where practical.
